The Epic Book Tower

Remember this book tower post.

Its since taken on epic proportions.  I fear for my safety each night that its going to crash down on top of me, yet my compulsion takes over to keep adding to it.

And then there is the pile of unread books stacked on the floor.

Hi.  My name is Julie and I am a book addict.

I finally removed the books today for the safety of my wonderful MIL who will be staying in our room next week.

Balloon Rockets

It was a rainy miserable day today.  With the kids we flicked through my Kids Activity Board on Pinterest (what would we do without it) and they picked Balloon Rockets.  The original link is here with full instructions.  Its a great site with a heap of easy science ideas for kids.

The kids loved this, especially racing their balloons against each other.

It was most definitely a hands on parent involved activity.  The children struggled to get their balloons attached to the sellotape, so needed us to do it for them.  Just secretly I think the hubby might of had more fun than the kids, figuring out ways to attach the balloons so they flew in spirals.

It was a great way to spend a dark rainy afternoon.

Our First Tooth Fairy Visit

Sprat lost his first tooth this week.  Excitement abounded in our house!

It was time for the Tooth Fairy to visit.  I found this cute letter at the Intermittent Blogger.

I had a slight disagreement with the hubby about how much the Tooth Fairy should be leaving. He won.  Which is OK, because we now can have a lesson on spend a bit, give a bit and save a bit.

Sprat apparently heard some tinkling in the middle of the night, which was the Tooth Fairy's wand.  True story.  He was very happy to find this under his pillow in the morning.

I love how our children believe.
