Wardrobe Wednesday - A Bit of Art

I have to stop myself from wearing this skirt everyday.  I am rather obsessed with it.  I tend to get really focused on one favourite piece of clothing and wear it till I am sick of it.  Or it falls apart.  A bit like when you are a teenager and have a favourite song that you play on repeat every spare minute of your day until you can't bear to hear it anymore.

So I only allow myself to wear this once a week as I want the joy to last.  I know, it does sound pretty crazy, but we all have our quirks.

I picked this up from the markets in Whitiangia over the summer, but the lady who makes them is actually based in Raglan and is often at the Tamahere Markets in Hamilton.  Check out her website, she makes some awesome stuff - www.moz-art.co.nz

The bird is hand painted, and I love the doillies.  I team it up with a plain white singlet and my much loved and very worn jandels.  Perfect casual summer outfit.

I found this necklace at the markets at Cooks Beach over summer as well.  I may have a thing for birds?

Wardrobe Wednesday - Passport Picture Perfect

I've not been very good at keeping up with Wardrobe Wednesday.  I have been spending way too much time in workout clothing or beach gear lately.

I quickly popped over to see what the gorgeous Miriam was wearing today and saw that it was her last day hosting Wardrobe Wednesday.

As I am off to get passport photos taken, and seeing that it was her last day, I thought I would ditch the bright green workout top (true story, I am that tragic I was going to wear that in my passport photo) and wear my favourite dress so I could share on Wardrobe Wednesday.

I LOVE this dress.  In capitals.  I have always wanted to own a dress from Annah Stretton, and now I own 3 after a Christmas shopping spree!!  The sales staff were fun, and straight away had worked out what colours would suit me.  We were in the store for a good hour and a half and the whole time we had their full attention.  It was a shopping 'experience' that I won't forget for a while.

The hubby picked this dress.

It makes me feel happy to know I am wearing something he loves and picked himself.

Wardrobe Wednesday - Rediscovering

I love jeans.  As stated last week, I wear them all the time.  I find them so convenient while I am rushing about in my mummy madness - I can bend over and pick up the baby, bend in and out of the car, rush about in the wind, dress them up, slouch them down ... I love jeans.  I did say I would make an effort on a Wednesday to stay out of jeans, but today has been BUSY and I needed to be comfy.  Jeans make me comfy.  And I strangely feel feminine in jeans as well.

I own lots of jeans.  I pick them up at the Salvation Army for $6 a pair and I must currently own about 8 pairs.

Todays outfit has lots of excitement attached.  The fact I can fit my top again.  It wasn't that I couldn't before - I just couldn't fit it nicely.  Now there is no muffin top and mummy pouch poking out to say hi.  I had a heap of comments today on the top - I had forgotten how much attention it draws.

I am having lots of fun rediscovering my wardrobe.  There has been alot of things hanging in it that I just couldn't wear.  Now they can start seeing the light of day again.

My outfit today;  Top - brought in a Farmers sale about 3 years ago, Jeans - $6 from Salvation Army, Sandals - brought in Whitianga (I only own about 3 pairs of shoes ... this needs to change).

Danger Mouse wanted to show off his new clothes I brought him this week.

Wardrobe Wednesday - Floaty and Floral

Its my first time taking part in Wardrobe Wednesday.  I am such a jeans and hoodie type girl - mainly because I am so busy and the effort to dress up often just eludes me (read into that - I am too lazy).  That doesn't mean that I don't want to though.  Trust me, deep inside me there is a girly girl that loves her skirts and hair long and probably should of been born in the fashion of the 60's.

So each Wednesday, I am going to try to make more of an effort to get out of my jeans.  No promises though.

My outfit today - Skirt $3 in a half price ticket sale at Salvation Army.  Singlet - $6 from Kmart.  Sunglasses are dutyfree from Sunglass Hut.  I was wearing leather sandals, but they forgot to get in the photo.....
